about

In 2003 Jess returned to her home town of Teignmouth after obtaining a promotion to Torbay District General Hospital – now South Devon Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust.  Having developed a much deeper interest in musculoskeletal outpatients during her time at Torbay, Jess has been honing her clinical skills and expertise in this challenging area at a senior level ever since.

At Teign Physiotherapy, we endeavour to establish the underlying cause and nature of your main condition – providing a diagnosis where appropriate, before offering appropriate treatment based on our clinical findings, your medical history and in conjunction with your preferences. Hands on therapies, like acupuncture, manual therapy, taping and soft tissue mobilisation may be utilised. These will always be used in combination with education, advice and simple home based exercises in between therapy sessions.

Home based exercises could be altering how you move or modifying your posture during daily activities, sports and hobbies; simple exercises to do on a regular basis or, even allowing time for you to relax.  Ultimately, home based exercises ensure you remain involved in your recovery and longer term management of your symptoms, getting the most from your physiotherapist and yourself to reach the best possible outcome.

Teign Physiotherapy prides itself on providing a first class, personal and professional service delivered by our highly experienced, chartered and HCPC registered physiotherapist, Jess Sheardown.  www.hcpc.org.uk www.csp.org.uk www.aacp.co.uk
